B506M is the event number for the streams group conducting research in Antarctica as part of the McMurdo Dry Valleys Long-Term Ecological Research.  The job of the “Stream Team” (a.k.a. the Asgard Rangers) is to measure the amount of water flowing through the streams as a result of glacial melt during the Antarctic summer. We also study the life and chemistry within these flowing waters, and try to understand how the streams are connected to other parts of the Dry Valleys.  Follow us and explore the streams of Antarctica!

Also, be sure to read about the adventures of our partners in the valley – B511M and B505M!
